Hutchins Canning wins 2013 Small Business of the Year Award

Hutchins Canning & Company PA was honored with the Currituck Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award (for companies with over 10 employees) on October 10, 2013 at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Luncheon. This award is presented yearly to a company that exhibits outstanding growth, entrepreneurship and community service. Accepting the award at the meeting was Frederick Hutchins and Kurt Canning.

Hutchins Canning Sponsors Environmental Sustainability Award

Hutchins Canning & Company PA sponsored the first annual Environmental Sustainability Award at the Currituck County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Luncheon held on October 10, 2013.  The winner of the award was Wild Horse Adventure Tours of Corolla, owned and operated by Richard Brown (pictured second from the right).

Hutchins Canning instituted and sponsored this new award to foster an awareness of and concern for sustainability practices in the Outer Banks region business community.

Hutchins Canning & Company PA and the College of the Albemarle Small Business Center recently sponsored the first annual Elizabeth City Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards. Montero’s Restaurant won the award in the category of over 10 employees, and Shay Leslie Boutique won the award in the under 10 employees category.

NCACPA Day of Service

Sarah Bruce (left) and Matthew Gardner (right) participated in the NCACPA Day of Service on September 20, 2013. This annual event offers CPAs the opportunity to give back to their communities through volunteer service with a charitable organization.  This year’s event in the Outer Banks was a beach clean-up in Kitty Hawk.
